People often ask me what I do on a daily basis to build my home based business. Doing something (no matter how much) each day will make a huge difference in the long term success of your home based business. Here’s a run down of my daily activities.
Before you go and just start doing things to promote your business, it would be wise to set up some goals and aspirations to chase after. Once you have our goals in place, ask yourself when you want to achieve those goals. Everyone will have different goals to be hit on different time lines so not everyone should use the same daily method to build their home based business.
I am a real big believer in getting back links because I believe back links are the most important aspect for the long term success of my home based business. As long as I am constantly pushing back links around, people will be finding my website through the search engines.
Everyday I try to submit or add my url to at least 25 directories. Many times I go above and beyond the 25 depending how much time I have. It usually takes me about an hour to submit to 25 directories.
After I submit my website to the directories, Ill usually either write an article and post it on my blog or write an informative blog post and submit that post to 40 different social sites using SocialMarker.
I write anywhere from 2-5 articles a week and post 2 of those articles to SubmitYourArticle article leveraging service. This service alone distributes my articles to all the major article directories on the web and much more. The best part is the article leveraging service makes one article into several unique articles therefore avoiding any duplicate penalties you would normally get from the search engines.
Any given day I will also make 5-15 posts on various home business forums. Each post allows me to earn a back link to my website and also builds rapport with the other members. These fellow internet marketers are also potential customers and/or can be of use or help to my own home based business as well.
Those are my main objectives to build my home based business on a day to day basis. After gong through my main priorities for the day, I will try to get some extra back links by commenting on other blogs. I also take care of any technical work that needs to be done on my main website or blogs.
To be successful in internet marketing you have to be able to adapt to change constantly. There is a lot of trial and error work to be done. I am constantly changing and adding keywords in hopes of getting more traffic. I also monitor where my traffic and sales come from and rinse and repeat when necessary.
I hope this gives you just somewhat of an idea on where to focus the majority of your energy when building your home based business on a day to day basis. Many people (me included at one point) waste a lot of time on trying to work on their website or reading about the latest and greatest home based business scheme rather than getting back links to your website.
The back links you get now will really help your traffic to your website over the next couple of months. Once you have a regular flow of traffic coming in, it will be a lot easier to judge if the changes to your website are working or not.
I hope that makes sense. You can work on your website and change it as much as you want in hopes of increasing your conversion rates, but getting the traffic there should be your first priority.
