For most online money making newbies, back links are two words that do not mean too much yet. If I could turn the clock backwards and redo or restart my days as a newbie I would learn the value of back links.
So what are back links?
Back links are simply a link on someone else’s site that is pointing back to your site. For example. heres a back link for my home web page… Internet Based Affiliate Marketing It’s a link that takes you to my site when you click it. It’s a real simple concept, back link, a link that points back to a website.
It is important because the search engines define the authority websites by the amount of back links that they have. Newer websites have fewer back links therefore they will not be considered an authority website. Older websites like myspace, facebook, and youtube are considered to be authority websites because they have hundreds of thousands of back links.
Your goal as a webmaster is to get your website as many back links as possible and define your website as an authority presence on the web. Once you start seeing your back links go up, you will also see your website go up in the search engine rankings for your keywords. The more back links you have, the easier and higher you will rank for certain keywords. When you have years and years worth of back links, you will even be able to rank in the most competitive highly searched terms in your niche. That is what you should be working for and that’s why back links are so important.
